You are almost certainly a felon. Not a convicted felon, of course. But chances are you have already violated dozens if not hundreds of Federal criminal laws, which have now created over 9,000 different crimes. Civil-liberties lawyer Harvey Silverglate has claimed that the average American commits three felonies a day, the vast majority of which, of course, go unprosecuted.
7 CommentsAmongst all of the commentary and obsession over Iranian nuclear power, the war in Afghanistan, and pulling out of Iraq, many of President Obama's domestic promises have gone overlooked. He has a lot on his plate, so please don't take this as me complaining - while I'm coming off of my "Obama-high," I'm still thoroughly delighted to have him as my president.
2 CommentsIt's my last year at Trinity College. After three years and six semesters of being nourished and malnourished at the hands of Chartwells, I opted out of the meal plan as soon as the administration allowed. My resulting attitude towards food was unexpected, and has led me to form the opinion that the meal plan at Trinity College should be optional for all students.

0 CommentsDear Editors, I was hurt, offended, and saddened to read Candace Simpson's subtle jab at the Trinity student body in her otherwise beautiful tribute to the late Adrianna Duffy ["Passing of Student Brings Community Together," Oct. 6, 2009]. Ms. Simpson's self-admitted "surprise" at the enormous outpouring of public grief and support would be valid were it not for her insistence that the surprise came only because of the setting in which it took place.
0 CommentsDear Editors, Sadly, I feel the urge to address in sum, the disparaging and questionable remarks being thrown around about Mr. Obama's election as the Nobel Peace Prize Laureate. This is precarious for me. I am not fond of posting my written thoughts for public consumption nor do I like to participate in these types of conversations casually.
