Vote Yes for ConnPIRG In Upcoming Elections

By Tim Uygungil

Ah yes, spring is in the air. There are so many wonderful reasons to love the season. Personally, even more than listening to birds chirping outside my window and basking in the sun's warmth, I am looking forward to one thing above all else - SGA's spring elections.

Pro-life or Pro-choice, All Trin Should Be Informed

By MARC MONTINI

The debate over abortion in America is always a heated one, as it should be, since any stance directly involves important human values. What is more important: a right to life or a right to choice? Pro-life advocates will adamantly state that every human - no matter their state in life - has the right to live, whereas pro-choice supporters will hail personal choice over life as an inalienable right.

SGA Accomplished Much This Year

President Devin Romanul Discusses Issues of Presidential Position

By DEVIN ROMANUL

In years past, the Student Government Association has been criticized for being ineffective and unproductive in influencing issues that are important to the student body.  Over the last eight months, the many members of the SGA and I have done our very best to revamp the way SGA is run internally and externally.

Trinity Student Explores French Political Spectrum

By DAVID CALDER

When I was in high school, my conservative arch-nemesis (his name was Devin) would refer to the Pacific states as "the left coast." And I, ever the proud Canadian, would reply, "Yes, but looking down from Canada, it's on the right." Recently, of course, the Canadians voted the Conservative party into power and spoiled my joke.

Student Responds to Criticism of "Informed Choice" Pamphlet

By ELYSHA PADILLA

I am sure all members of the Trinity community who are on campus have seen the latest pamphlet entitled, "Informed Choice."  For those who chose to pay it no mind and go on with their daily lives (which is absolutely fine), this pamphlet was a response to the packet stuffed in our mailboxes from the Women and Gender Resource Action Center about the emergency contraceptive pill.

Five Step Plan for Bush to Put End to Global Warming Issues

By WILL MANNEN

Jay Leno hit it on the mark when he said, "Arnold Schwarzenegger is blaming man for global warming. And today, Al Gore agreed with him. That's so typical. Two cyborgs. 'Oh, let's blame the humans.'" This isn't meant to demean either gentleman. Both "cyborgs" are in fact probably right that greenhouse gases do play a role in climate change.

Response to "Informed Choice" Pamphlet Was Close-Minded

As a contributor to the Informed Consent packet that was distributed to students last month, I want to respond to the op-ed piece by Michael Pontone in the March 27 edition of the Tripod.  I find it disheartening that his objection to the packet is not just to its content, but to the fact that he was "forced" to look at a "biased and fervently one-sided publication" that he obviously disagreed with.

Professor Comments on Tripod Confusion Over His Identity

I often learn new things from The Trinity Tripod, and this week is no exception. I was intrigued to read in the March 27 issue that I have a son who is a Trinity graduate and who is now in medical school. I had fleeting images of a future involving inexpensive medical care -- (once I finished paying off his college tuition bills of course) -- until I realized that I don't actually have a son, much less one who has graduated from Trinity.
